For some reason I hesitated before I came downstairs,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The walls wore different, but I didn\u2019t really seem to care,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I turned the corner, on the couch there you were sat,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Again hesitation, you had gone and I had accepted that,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But with a glow, and a smile I hadn\u2019t seen for years<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My face flooded and filled with the happiest tears,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I jumped on you and held you so close,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You embraced this and said, I promise you this time I won\u2019t go,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For moments I remembered, it all flooded inward,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For a minute, there I was, feeling completely uninjured,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But the room began to shrink, sweats and then it got really hot,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I tossed and turned, opening my eyes and there – you were not,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My shodden heart sank to bottom where it had re-homed,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That\u2019s the only place, in the dark where it feels known,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since you left, the trauma and everything else happened,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I haven\u2019t really felt much of the happy only the drench of being saddened,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Years of healing and understanding, trying to close the door,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But there like nothing had occurred, you were sat once more,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I forgot how I felt when you were here,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I guess loss dampens you, and then you adhere,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But for a moment in an altera universe there was happiness,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
