Heyy, Iβm Danielle βοΈ
Writer Β· Author Β· Suicidologist
Often known as Dan, or @danisace online. Welcome to my little corner of the world.
I write about life, psychology, mental health and personal experience. Through articles, poems and conversations, I share what I have lived through, what I have learnt, and the thoughts that stay with me along the way.
How my writing began βοΈ
Writing has been part of my life since childhood, when I kept journals. In 2017, after experiencing trauma, I began sharing my writing publicly.
Putting experiences into words gave me somewhere to reflect. Over time, that writing became a way to connect with others, too.
Today, my work explores grief, relationships, individuality, emotional wellbeing and finding your own way through life.
Psychology and lived experience π§
My background in psychology informs my curiosity about how we think, feel and respond to the world.
Alongside that learning, I bring lived experience. My writing often moves between the two: exploring a topic through psychology, then reflecting on what it has meant in my own life.
I share personal perspectives openly, while recognising that another personβs experience may be very different.
My work with SAPUK π π
I founded SAPUK in 2016 following a loss to suicide. What began as a personal healing platform grew into a volunteer-led support network.
Suicide prevention and awareness remain central to my work. The organisationβs journey has taught me about compassion, community, persistence and the importance of listening.
I also organise events through The Semicolon Project, bringing people together around awareness and connection.
Beyond the articles π
Iβm a mum, an animal lover, and someone who enjoys expressing thoughts in different ways.
Sometimes that means a personal article; sometimes a poem, a podcast episode or a video.
This website brings those parts of my life together. You can explore my writing, listen, reflect, or simply spend a little time here.
Stay a while π€
Explore my writing, find a poem, or listen to the podcast. For questions about my work or a topic you would like me to explore, you are welcome to say hey.
Be kind, show off your imperfections, and tell your story.
All my love,
D x π βοΈ
