Abbie’s story
My name is Abigail Turner, and I am living with stage 4 breast cancer.
Like many people facing a serious cancer diagnosis, I have experienced challenges that have affected every part of my life—physically, emotionally, and financially. Despite everything, I remain determined to keep fighting, to explore every option available to me, and to make the most of every precious day.
I was diagnosed at Christmas 2022, with metastases in my spine and sternum, had ‘red devil’ chemotherapy, lost my hair and continued on targeted therapy. Then in April 2025 I had stopped responding to treatment and it returned with a vengeance and I had to have a mastectomy and change my treatment again. Unfortunately in October I found out the cancer has spread again to my lungs, my hip, my liver and my lymph nodes. I am now on my 5th line of treatment and not tolerating it well.
More than anything, I want to be here for my two beautiful children, Paisley, aged 8, and Toby, aged 6. They are my world and my reason for continuing this fight every single day. I want to be there to watch them grow, celebrate their achievements, comfort them through life’s challenges, and create as many precious memories together as possible. Every parent dreams of seeing their children reach the milestones ahead of them, and I am doing everything within my power to give myself the best chance of being present for those moments. This journey is not just for me—it’s for Paisley and Toby, who deserve to have their mum by their side for as long as possible.
I have the opportunity to travel to The Art of Healing in India, where I hope to access complementary therapies, supportive care, and holistic approaches that may help improve my quality of life and overall wellbeing alongside my ongoing medical care.
Unfortunately, the costs involved are far beyond what I can manage alone. Travel, accommodation, treatment programmes, and associated expenses quickly add up, creating a financial burden at a time when my focus should be on my health and recovery.
I am reaching out to ask for your support. Every donation, no matter how small, will help me take this journey and access the care and support I am seeking. If you are unable to donate, sharing my story with others would mean just as much.
Cancer has taught me the importance of hope, community, and kindness. Knowing that people are standing beside me during this difficult chapter gives me strength and courage to keep moving forward.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story, for your generosity, and for any support you can offer. Your kindness means more than words can express.
With love and gratitude,
Abigail Turner
